It is surprising why no other than a pastor would lay the foundation of his ministry on stolen items, and then turn around to be preaching the Bible’s ten commandments and other virtues to his congregation.
The Berekum Police in the Bono Region has reportedly arrested one pastor Matthew Osika for allegedly stealing musical instruments of another church in the area to establish his church.
The said stolen instruments are reported to belong to Amankokwaa Methodist Church in the Berekum West District but were made away with by some criminals who had broken into the house of God.
The burglary was reported to the police and an investigation was launched into it. It has now turned out that the musical instruments were packed in the home of the suspect.
During interrogation, Matthew Osika allegedly said that he bought the musical instruments from someone to start his ministry but was unwilling to disclose the identity of the person who sold it to him.
Paul Asante Bonah, a senior pastor at the Amankokwaa Methodist Church is reported as saying that they informed the police upon suspicion following a tipoff that the suspect might be in the possession of the stolen instruments.
He added that when police invaded the suspect’s home, they found the items in his room and arrested him as a result.
